With such a growing need for a store in our area for cat and dog items, as well as great gift ideas for animal-lovers, Peggy Andretz and Tanya Burtis, a mother-daughter team decided to establish  "Reigning Cats & Dogs".  After remodeling the former building of Waxhaw Animal Hospital, Reigning Cats & Dogs Pet Boutique opened after Thanksgiving Day of 2004, and has been growing since.  Tanya's husband, Jason, can now also be found most days at the boutique, as he is helping by managing the daily operations. 

Continued growth in all areas and the overall increase in daily clientelle, allowed for the offering of professional grooming services in June of 2005.  We have continued searching for the best quality gifts that are unique, useful and enjoyable for your pets, as well as healthy treats and all-natural foods.  You definitely will find something new every month in our boutique!

We have been featured at different times in "The Charlotte Observer", "Cats and Dogs of Charlotte", and at the Homearama in 2006!

We are proud to be a part of local functions and do also contribute to several local groups and schools for their fundraisers!  Just this past season, we have participated in the Waxhaw Springfest & sponsored the Doggie Idol show; just recently held our own event for the third year, the Fido's Fall Fun Fest, in conjunction with Waxhaw Animal Hospital & the Greater Monroe Kennel Club; sponsored the Humane Society of Charlotte in PetPalooza; and participaed again in the Waxhaw Autumn Treasures in October!
